Spring Rape

Spring Rape

Spring rape is a valuable oil and fodder crop. This culture is an important reserve in solving the problems of obtaining the additional protein feed and vegetable oil.

In recent years, rapeseed oil has an increased usage for biofuel production overseas.

In modern agriculture because of the over saturation due to rotation of the crops, rape has a special phytosanitary role.

The experience of many farms showed high efficiency of rape fodder in the diet of all species. Adding of 20-25 kg of spring rape green mass instead of perennial grasses or corn in the diet of cows in the summer increases average daily milk yield to 1-1.5 kilograms, and the fat content of milk - to 0,15-0,17 percent. There is also a significant increase in the productivity of cows when adding rape meal and cake to the diet. Growing and fattening of the animals increases as well. High efficiency in the fattening of the cattle is achieved both when used as part of a diet meal of continuous rape plants and cake and meal from the seeds. Feeding pigs with adding five percent (by weight) of rapeseed meal in annual feed, improves average daily gain to 600-650 grams.
